Established in 1999 by ECOWAS (Economic Community of West Africa States), the WAPP project aims to interconnect the power grids of 14 West African countries.

Remarking on the announcement, Jean-Paul Steinitz, CEO of GLOBAL Technologies, added: "To support WAPP in its vision to promote and develop power generation and transmission infrastructures across West Africa, we have teamed up with Eutelsat to leverage the prime capacity available on its EUTELSAT 10A satellite.

The WAPP is made up of 14 countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo, with 27 national electricity utilities working towards a more efficient regional power market.

But Jillian Aldebron, chairwoman of WAPP, said after the hearing that the dispute with the board remains because there is no reason to believe the board will change its position on whether the law can go to referendum.

Usman Gur Mohammed, Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and Chair- man of the WAPP executive board, told stakeholders in April that it was only in 2017 that his utility achieved frequency control, something it had not managed to do for 20 years.

It also approved IDA Additional Credit of $22.66 million equivalent and IDA Grant: $22.66 million equivalent to the Republic of Liberia for a West African Power Pool - Cote d'Ivoire, Sierra Leon, Liberia and Guinea Power Interconnection Project; and IDA Additional Grant of $17.5 million equivalent to the West African Power Pool for the WAPP Interconnector Project and Integration and Technical Assistance Project

Jorinda was sensitively sung by Allison Girvan and danced by Carly Brandel; mezzo Bessie Wapp was appropriately nasty singing the Witch, danced by Hiromoto Ida; Jaren was sung by tenor Roger Ley, danced by Mackenzie Hope; and the light-hearted, fed-up toad was voiced by Sydney Galbraith-Black and humorously danced by Lindsay Clague.

The agency will work with its neighbours through the Central African Power Pool (CAPP), and with Western Africa (West African Power Pool, WAPP) to promote more efficient use of energy.

She shared ERERA's experience on electricity regulation with the participants, including the delivery of its mandate, the scope of the institution's responsibilities and powers, its relationship with the West Africa Power Pool (WAPP) and the national regulatory agencies in ECOWAS member states, as well as with the other ECOWAS institutions on energy.

Through mobile phones (Wapp, Bluetooth, NFC), tourists can download a lot of information, get travel guides with instructions on what they can see as well as detailed maps of the advertised destination.
