The threat status of 20 bird species, including rowi kiwi,
takahe and mohua/yellowhead, has improved since 2012 as a result of pest control work on public conservation land.
Althoughthe Cat Killeris believed to be responsible for hundreds of crimes across the UK,including in Surrey, it is the Metropolitan Police that is leading the investigation, codenamed Operation
Takahe.

A PS10,000 reward has been offered and the Met Police have set up Operation
Takahe to catch the killer.
