Twenty-two vegetable farmers and traders from Bamako rated the African eggplant and roselle varieties based on visual characteristics (fruit color, fruit shape, number of fruits per plant, fruit size, number of secondary branches per plant, leaf size, leaf shape, leaf color, number of calyxes per plant, calyx shape, and calyx color).
Commercially available sachets of dried and crushed Roselle calyxes were obtained from Royal Herbs (Ottoman Group, Egypt).
This research project was carried out to examine the effect of drought on inducing elevation in antioxidant content in the calyxes. Additionally, selected physiological responses of roselle to drought were examined.
The tumour of kidney infiltrated the upper and middle renal calyxes. Histologic examination showed tumour cells of kidney displayed hobnail-like shape and diffuse tubular pattern with desmoplastic stromal reaction.
