Qirsh

A subdivision of a currency in several Arabic-speaking countries. A qirsh is equal to 1/100 of a Jordanian dinar or an Egyptian pound. It is also equal to 1/20 of a Saudi riyal. The term comes from a currency subdivision used during the Ottoman Empire. It is also spelled qursh or ghirsh.
