- Any of several sticklebacks.

- Either of two porgies of shallow waters on the eastern and Gulf coasts of the United States: Lagodon rhomboides, which has a dark spot on the lateral line behind the gill cover, and (more fully "spottail pinfish") Diplodus holbrooki, which has a black saddle on the caudal peduncle.
