(3) Polydactyly is characterized in the thoracic limbs as a change in digit form and number, (10,12) while in the pelvic limbs it is described as supernumerary halluces. Only 1 report refers to a unilateral pentadactyly in a yellow-shouldered Amazon parrot (Amazona barbadensis) of the order Psittaciformes.
Patients included had all grades of onychomycosis caused by T rubrum with mycological confirmation in both halluces and underwent a left hallux/right hallux comparison of the two laser systems with a two treatment regime spaced four weeks apart to both nails.
There were no deformities in the lower limbs other than laterally deviated bilateral halluces (Figure 1).
