handers
backhander
A blow administered by the back of one's hand. You talk about my girl like that again, and you'll get a backhander to the face, understand? When I was a kid, it wasn't uncommon to get a backhander from one of your parents when you misbehaved. I didn't know she was standing right behind me, so when I turned around, I gave her a backhander by accident.
glad-hander
One who is apt to address people in a friendly manner, often when it is feigned or false. I don't think she actually likes me—she seems like a real glad-hander. Our company hasn't received any of the support the governor keeps claiming is heading our way—that's why I think she's a glad-hander. A: "Larry said he'd be happy to help us with our account." B: "Yeah, I doubt he's actually happy about it. Larry's a real gland-hander."
